Through programs, events, and religious services, the Machtley Interfaith Center is dedicated to:

  • Providing Bryant members of various faith traditions, a setting where they can explore their spirituality, practice their faith, and gather for fellowship.
  • Promoting increasing awareness of the world’s various faith traditions with the aim of developing our “religious literacy”, and fostering understanding and respect for people of different faith traditions than our own.
  • Acknowledging the spiritual dimension of life for all human beings and to promote the idea that the exploration of religious and spiritual questions, issues, values, and aspirations, in an informed, respectful milieu in which a variety of viewpoints are a part of the discussion, is appropriate to an academic community.

Bryant University is committed to the spiritual development, religious identity, and faith practice of all Bryant community members. See Campus Ministries for a list of services.

The facilities in the Machtley Interfaith Center are available for members of the Bryant community to reserve for programming and activities of a religious or spiritual nature, and for officially recognized groups with those aims and purposes.

The Machtley Interfaith Center is also available to faculty, staff, alumni, students, and the children of faculty, staff, and alumni for weddings by arrangement with the Student Affairs Finance and Operations Office.  Weddings must comply with the laws of the State of Rhode Island, and must comply with the requirements of the denominational or congregational body of which the officiant is an accredited member in good standing.
