The Intercultural Center (ICC) is a place for conversation and a resource center for consultation on multicultural and international issues for the entire campus. The office creates programs and events to enhance appreciation for and awareness of cultural diversity within the Bryant community. The ICC is responsible for compliance with immigration regulations for the university and serves as the home of the Multicultural Student Union and the International Student Organization.

The mission of the ICC has evolved and broadened since its creation in 1977 when it served the needs of a small, primarily black student population. The professional educators who currently staff the ICC counsel and mentor international and multicultural students by serving as advocates for them in their educational pursuits. They collaborate with faculty and administrative departments to bring about awareness and appreciation for diverse cultures.  The office is responsible for compliance with immigration regulations for Bryant University.

The staff advises two major student organizations - The International Student Organization (ISO) and the Multicultural Student Union (MSU).

The primary programs of the ICC are 4MILE@bryant (Multicultural and International Leadership Experience), International Education Week, Celebration of Cultural History Months, Global Community Hour & Global Community Building, Annual ICC Senior Awards Banquet and ICC Academic Achievement Awards/4MILE@bryant Recognition Ceremony.

The Journey

4MILE (Multicultural and International Leadership Experience) is a cultural and leadership program uniquely designed for incoming international and domestic multicultural students. This week of events feature team building exercises, cultural and social workshops, as well as presentations and activities to jump start success at Bryant University.

Program Details

4MILE supports incoming multicultural and international students on the road to achieving their personal best through a network of mentors and advisors. “First-years” take part in team building, leadership skills development and self exploration activities, facilitated by team leaders. Throughout the semester, students are part of a cluster and are mentored by current Bryant students. Students meet with their mentors on a monthly basis and participate in activities throughout the year that strengthen them through the transition.

Please reach out to Mailee Kue (mkue@bryant.edu) with any additional questions.

4MILE Peer Counselor

4MILE Peer Counselors serve in a leadership role in assisting incoming multicultural and international students to become members of the Bryant Community. They will serve as mentors, group facilitators, and a resource. This is an opportunity that enhances personal and professional growth while having the ability to have a positive impact on the experience of incoming students. Visit Student Leadership Selection - Bryant Engaged for more information, as well as the link to the application.

The Intercultural Center (ICC) provides services to meet the special needs of international students to assist them in fulfilling their personal and academic goals. The ICC provides individual advising on immigration regulations, however, it is ultimately student's responsibility to learn, understand and comply with the U.S. laws and regulations that apply. This site is intended to provide immigration and current legislation information to Bryant University international students.
