All incoming U.S. mail is sorted and distributed as soon as it arrives in the Campus Post Office.
Please have all mail addressed as follows:
Student's Full Name
Bryant University
1150 Douglas Pike
Smithfield, RI 02917
Campus Mail
Campus mail is continually sorted and distributed daily. Such mail should include the recipient's full name as well as department or Bryant box number if going to a student.
Please tell your friends and family that sending cash in the mail is never a good idea for the risk of being lost or stolen.
Outgoing Mail Procedures
Mailing Packages
Packages can be mailed through the Bryant Post Office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Packages must be properly wrapped, labeled, and weigh less than 70 pounds. The Post Office will be happy to assist you in preparing your package for shipment.
Bulk Mailings
To be sure adequate postage is on our account at the Providence Post Office, all departments using a mailing house must notify the Bryant University Post Office with the amount needed for postage.
Mail Classification - International Mail
All outgoing USPS international packages require customs forms be completed online.
Department Mail Requirements
Please separate domestic and international mail. Mail requiring postage must have the account number to identify it. If the Post Office window is not open, it is recommended that mail requiring postage not be left on the counter.
Incoming Packages
All packages are received and signed for by the Shipping & Receiving Department and the Post Office. These items are then transferred and processed. Once your package is processed, it will be placed in one of the secure postal lockers outside the Post Office. Students will receive a 6-digit code by text when your package is ready for pick-up. If you have not provided a cell phone number, you will receive the code via email. The Post Office will hold that package for 15 business days. If the package is not picked up after the first notification, a second one will be issued. If the package is not picked up within the 15-day window, the package will be returned to sender or donated if return is not possible.
Students must have their Bryant ID, a valid driver’s license or a passport in order to pick up packages. An email to bryantpo@bryant.edu can be sent to give permission to another individual to collect a package on a student’s behalf. This individual must have a form of identification as well.
Student Box Numbers
Box numbers will be assigned and are used for identification purposes. You will be able to see your mailbox number on your housing assignment information. All mail will be handled as we do packages. Students will be notified when they receive letter mail.
Amazon Lockers
Students may choose to have their Amazon packages delivered to our on-campus Amazon lockers.
At checkout, update your delivery zip code to 02917, then select the locker location named "Harmonica." Once your package is delivered, you’ll receive a code by text or email to retrieve it.
Student Parcel Lockers
The lockers are located outside the Post Office and will function like the Amazon lockers but will be loaded and managed by the Post Office staff.
Students will receive a code via text or email which will need to be inputted once they arrive at the lockers. Once entered correctly, the door to the corresponding locker will open. Please close door securely.
Students are given 24 hours to retrieve their item(s). If the item(s) are not collected, the Post office staff will bring items back to the Post Office where they will be held for 15 days.
